Notre Dame got a big win over Clemson in double OT. I know the Tigers were missing Trevor Lawrence, but credit the Irish for putting up 47 points against the Tiger defense.

The Big Ten continued to show surprising results. Penn State, now 0-3, fell to Maryland. Michigan slipped to 1-2, falling to Indiana.

The Pac-12 opened its season as USC rallied with two late TDs to beat Arizona State.

In the NFL, the Steelers remained unbeaten. Patrick Mahomes threw for 372 yards and four TD’s as Kansas City edged Carolina. The Bills beat the Seahawks while the Titans beat the Bears.

Authentic won the Breeders Cup Classic. Chase Elliott won the NASCAR title.

A busy week in sports.

Michigan was upset by Michigan State. Maryland scored a big upset over Minnesota. Texas knocked off previously unbeaten Oklahoma State. Ohio State won at Ohio State.Auburn was very impressive over Auburn.

In the NFL, the Steelers remained unbeaten, the Jets remained winless. The Packers were stunned by the Vikings, the Titans were upset by the Bengals.

Managerial news as the White Sox hired Tony LaRussa and the Tigers named AJ Hinch.

Novak Djokovic suffered one of his most lopsided losses as a pro. He fell to Lorenzo Sonego in Austria.

The World Series has had plenty of drama. Game four was the wildest, dramatic game I’ve ever seen. Los Angeles now leads 3-2.

It was also good to see the Big Tenfootball season begin. Michigan had an impressive win at Minnesota. Ohio State and Justin Fields took care of Nebraska. Rutgers snapped a 21-game Big Ten losing streak by stunning Michigan State. Purdue scored an upset of Iowa while Indiana shocked Penn State.

The Steelers remained unbeaten with a big win over Tennessee. Tampa Bay had an Impressive victory over the Raiders. The Seahawks fell from the unbeaten ranks, losing to Arizona. The Jets fell to 0-7.

What a great time to be a fan in the Tampa area. The Lightning won the Stanley Cup, the Rays are going to the World Series, and Tom Brady has the Bucs in the hunt. The win over Green Bay said a lot.

The Rays and Dodgers will be an exciting World Series.

Alabama had Nick Saban on the sidelines and scored a big win over Georgia.

Teofilo Lopez scored an upset with over Vasily Lomachenko to become a four-belt lightweight champion. His future is so bright, baby.

Congrats to the NBA champion Lakers! LeBron James and Anthony Davis would not be denied. Jimmy Butler and the Heat pushed the series to six games.

I was thrilled as the Tampa Bay Rays knocked off the Yankees!

The Las Vegas Raiders made some noise, pushing the Chiefs from the unbeaten ranks. The Steelers moved to 4-0 for the first time since 1979.

The tennis world saw a great matchup in the French Open men’s championship, 1 vs. 2. Rafa Nadal tied Roger Federer with his 20th Grand Slam, winning the French over Novak Djokovic..

The women’s title was shock city as unseeded 19-year old Iga Swiatek earned her first Slam title. She is the first Polish player, male or female, to accomplish that feat.

College football saw the top two team win again. Trevor Lawrence led Clemson to a win over Miami. Alabama got five TDs from Najee Harris in a win over Mississippi. There were upsets as Florida and LSU went down.
