- The most influential coach in Dick’s life was Ken Sinofsky, who was the Head Football Coach in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
- Dick’s favorite actor is Denzel Washington and his favorite actress in Julia Roberts.
- When Dick was a young man, he wanted to be a lawyer. He loved going to the courthouse to watch local trials in Bergen County, New Jersey. He especially wanted to become a prosecutor.
- Dick’s favorite sports movie is Remember the Titans.
- Dick’s most recent book read is, “Caddy for Life” by John Feinstein.
- Dick developed his love of sports when he was growing up in NewJersey. Every Sunday after church he and his uncles (Frank, Joe, Tom and Mike Scarpa) would debate anything relating to sports (the Yankees vs. Mets, Willie Mays vs. Joe DiMaggio etc.)
- Dick went to his first baseball game when he was 6 years old in 1946 at Yankee Stadium to see Joe DiMaggio. Baseball still remains one of his true passions.
