I hope everyone had a great holiday. Mine was terrific. I was so blessed to be able to share the holiday with my beautiful family. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, my wife and I had our two daughters and their families over for holiday dinners. It is so much fun being with my five grandkids as they celebrate Christmas. There is nothing like being with your loved ones during the holidays. My wife prepared two delicious meals and then we all sat under the tree and opened our gifts. One of my daughters got a 7 week old Golden Retriever puppy for her kids for Christmas. The dog, Domer, is absolutely adorable and the kids were so excited.

Thanks again for everyone's support and well wishes during this holiday season. I hope to be back courtside in February. Best wishes for health and happiness in the New Year!

December 15-16, 2007

What a great two days my family and I had at Disney World in Orlando. It is always so special to go to the Magic Kingdom and share in all the fun and excitement that is Disney World! For the past three years, my family and I go for the Mickey's Christmas Party and Parade. The park is decorated so beautifully and it really helps to get you in the Christmas spirit.

My grandkids had an absolute blast and I loved sharing those times with them. They even got me to go on a lot of rides! I can't thank Kevin Young, executive with Disney, for all of his help and Josh WIld, who was our tour guide for the two days. He did a wonderful job!!! On behalf of the PR staff at Disney, I did a photo session with Daryl Dawkins, former NBA star, at the Magic Kingdom. It was great to share some time with him, he is a super guy who had a terrific NBA career. Goofy even came out to join our photo session. There is nothing quite like Disney - a magical place!

My wife and I flew to Atlanta to spend the day shooting my new commercial for Hooters. I always have a blast with the people from the Hooters team - it was a day of hard work but one filled with lots of laughs. I have been so fortunate to be aligned with the Hooters brand since 2000. Keith Johnson, of LEJ Sports, who works on the marketing campaigns for Hooters, and Mike McNeil, Executive Vice President at Hooters, are two terrific guys and I am proud to be associated with anything they do.

Since my relationship with Hooters began nearly seven years ago, Hooters has contributed nearly $1,000,000 towards the V Foundation for Cancer Research, something that we all know is near and dear to my heart. Keith and Mike are two of the most generous executives out there and I am just so elated to be part of their "team." The commercial we shot will be shown during March Madness - so keep an eye out for it!!!

Joe Barbetta and his wife, Mary, joined me and Lorraine in New York City for the Jimmy V Classic held at Madison Square Garden.

We had loads of fun in the city, taking in all the sights and sounds and all the bustle of everyone gearing up for the holidays. We had two terrific match-ups Tuesday night for the Classic this year - Kansas State vs Notre Dame and Memphis vs USC. Memphis prevailed in overtime in a real defensive battle.

It was a special treat for me to be able to speak to the audience watching the game on TV at halftime of the second game about my goal of raising $1,000,000 for a pediatric cancer research grant in the memory of Payton Wright (5 year old girl who lost her life to cancer this past May). The entire evening was a telethon, with people calling in non-stop to 1-800-4JIMMYV, to donate funds to help find a cure for this dreaded disease in memory of my late buddy, Jimmy V. A super night benefitting an even BETTER cause.
