I just came back from doing the commentary on the AdvoCare Invitational in Orlando, Fl. We had a great time staying in the Beautiful Gaylord Palms Resort. I had the opportunity to share a moment with Disney characters as ESPn had me doing motivational speeches to Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck And Pluto. I had a great time sharing a moment with them and they utilized that during the telecast which featured the final game in the championship between Xavier and Dayton. Xavier was sensational and they are a legitimate top 15 seed as they blew out Southern California in the Semi Finals and Dayton in the Finals.

We are just a few weeks away from the announcement of the four teams making the college football playoff. This thing is still wide open, baby!

Right now, Clemson, Alabama and Ohio State look like they are in good shape. The fourth slot could go to Notre Dame, Iowa, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State.

There is still a lot of football to be played. The Buckeyes face Michigan State this week. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State battle in the bedlam series ahead. Florida could test Alabama in the SEC title game and you never know in a rivalry with Auburn. Clemson could face a hot North Carolina team in the ACC title game.

I know one thing. It is very exciting!

I had a great time as the keynote speaker at a corporate event for Tech Data. This was the 2nd event I did for them this year.

I can`t thank Marty Bauerlein, Vice President of sales, enough for giving me the opportunity to share my motivational words for the crowd.

The people were absolutely fantastic and my wife and I had a blast at the beautiful Innisbrook Resort in the Tampa Area.

Tech Data is #1 at what they do, providing information technology.

It was a very good weekend for a number of football unbeaten teams.

Oklahoma State proved a point by beating previously-unbeaten TCU. Ohio State and Iowa remained perfect in the Big Ten. Clemson defeated Florida State in a key ACC showdown.

A number of teams fell from the unbeaten. Besides TCU, LSU lost for the first time, falling to Alabama and Leonard Fournette was held to 31 yards rushing. Michigan State and Memphis also suffered first losses.

In the NFL, the Panthers sent a message by beating the Packers. The Patriots rolled on again. The Bengals beat the Browns last Thursday.

It is good to be unbeaten, baby!

Last night, we had a special V Foundation event to raise money for kids battling cancer.  The event was sponsored by Ernie Garcia and his people from Morgan Stanley.

Also I want to thank Gary Fennessy the owner of Main Street Trattoria in Lakewood Ranch as he donated his facility plus donated all the food and wine which made the event so special. Over 100 people from the area came out and helped us raise an excess of  $40,000 dollars for pediatric cancer research and the V Foundation.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.  You’re awesome baby, with a capital A!

The start of November comes this weekend and already, there are a number of college football coaching vacancies out there.

The list grew after this weekend. Al Golden was fired by Miami after the school’s worst loss ever, a 58-0 defeat to Clemson. Central Florida’s George O’Leary announced his retirement; his team was 0-8 this season.

Think about other openings. USC fired Steve Sarkisian. South Carolina saw Steve Spurrier retire. Maryland fired Randy Edsall. Illinois made a coaching change before the start of the season with Tim Beckman ousted.

This is just the start. There will be others on the hot seat. The rumor mill will include guys like Justin Fuente of Memphis, Tom Herman of Houston, Matt Ruhle of Temple and many more. It is going to be wacky, my friends.

My wife and I had a fantastic time as the guests of Alvarez and Marsal Holdings Inc. for their leadership conference which was held at the beautiful resort, The Sanctuary, in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. I was their keynote speaker at the conference and I can`t thank them enough for their hospitality, kindness and generosity. It was a night I will always remember as they went out of their way to treat my wife and I first class.

My wife and I spent the weekend at the University of Notre Dame for their big rivalry game against SOuthern California. We also were part of a special tribute honoring Tom Longo who played for Notre Dame in the 60`s. Tom lost his battle with cancer and we had a beautiful ceremony for one of the greatest guys I ever had the pleasure of knowing. He would have been so proud for this special event put on by his son Tomas. We had a great time with family and friends and being a part of this ceremony.

What a wild weekend in the NFL.

The early window saw three games go into overtime. The Falcons and Bengals remained undefeated, but it was not easy. Atlanta won on a pick six, Cincinnati rallied from a 24-7 deficit to beat Seattle. Cleveland, led by Josh McCown’s record passing day, won at Baltimore. The Ravens are now four games behind the Bengals.

The Packers and Patriots also rolled on and look like the best teams out there. Aaron Rodgers and tom Brady have their teams playing at such a high level. New England’s defense held the Cowboys to two field goals in Dallas.

Then the Sunday night game was intense. The Niners looked like a winner until Eli Manning and Shane Vereen rallied the Giants to a 30-27 win. Excitement galore, baby!
